Interior & Exterior
There are 3 bedrooms plus a full bathroom and, for your convenience, all of the beds have fresh sheets, pillows and blankets when you arrive. Also there is additional accommodation for 6 more in three Bunkies.
Inside the main cottage you will find a clean equipped kitchen with a large table overlooking the lake for eating or playing games. There is a comfortable living room with a TV, DVD and stereo system.
A deck wraps around the cottage and has plenty of sitting room from every vantage point. There is a canopy on the main deck where you can relax out of the sun to play games or for the whole family to enjoy a meal together. The lakeside deck, dock and fire pit areas offer a full view of the beach so you can relax and watch the children play in the water. There are 2 BBQ’s and 2 fridges for the Cottage Chef(s) so you can stock up and stay put if you like.
This cottage is on a large, very gently sloping grassy lot with a beautiful lakeside setting offering an expansive view of the lake and south/eastern exposure for lots of sun throughout the day.
Additional Bunkies
For additional accommodation there are 3 bunkies which can sleep 2 people in each. One Bunkie is located right beside the main cottage while the other 2 Bunkies are set at the back of the lot. These three bunkies are priced separately for extra accommodation.
Waterfront Description
Cottage is along on the water with quick access to the beach. Steenburg Lake is a spring fed lake with 4 islands and 2 points that jut into the lake from the east and west adding to the scenic views of the lake.
Activities
There is a large dock, a sand beach and the swim area is shallow entry with sand under foot. The beach area offers fun for all ages. If fishing is your game, there are Splake and Large Mouth Bass here.
Local attractions include the 358 acre McGeachie Conservation Area. McGeachie Conservation Area has many unmarked walking trails throughout the property. The property has a creek, beaver ponds, wildlife and acres of wetlands. The entrance is located a short walk down the road from the Cottage.
Local Amenities
For all your basic needs, Trudy’s Variety/Gas bar is located about 5 minutes away from the cottage at Hwy 62. You will find a small Liquor store, chip truck, and bakery for your convenience. If more serious shopping is what you need, Bancroft has many types of shops, grocery stores, restaurants, hardware stores and pharmacies.
There is a Boat Launch located at #1035A Steenburg Lake North Road. It is called Mike’s Boat Launch at 613-474-3167. If you would like to rent a boat for your stay you can call ahead to Rose Simpson at 613-474-0533 for reservations.
